I’m Sarah Julien-Bell, a native Ohioan and fourth year Ph.D. student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I completed my master’s coursework at the University of Kentucky and my undergraduate degree at Ohio university.
As a child, I was a standardized patient actor for medical students and residents. I loved standardized patient days, and this sparked my interest in health from a very young age. I believe that those experiences greatly inspired my passion for patient-centered care and health communication.
As a researcher, I dedicate my work to understanding the role that health information technologies and information-seeking sharing play in the patient-provider relationship and translation of health information. My research skills include both qualitative and quantitative methods, including survey design, experiments, interviews, and focus groups.
