Our Mission
Our mission is to improve patient-provider communication through theory-driven and
evidence-based research and training.
Who We Are
The lab is comprised of communication faculty, graduate students, and faculty fellows. The lab currently houses several projects: trainings for residents at several hospitals; research in clinical settings; and systematic reviews or other agenda-setting essays. Lab members are also encouraged to develop and execute research ideas utilizing the lab’s resources and connections.
Student Membership
Interested students should indicate interest in joining the lab by contacting Dr. Charee
Thompson (charee@illinois.edu) and Dr. Lisa Guntzviller (guntzvi1@illinois.edu). Student
members can anticipate attending monthly meetings on the first Friday of the month and
participating in at least one of the lab’s projects.
